Graveside funeral services for Mr. Roy Gardner Swindell, Jr., age 80, of LaVergne, Tennessee will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday at Rose Hill Cemetery.  Mr. Swindell passed away Monday morning at Alvin C. York VA Hospital in Murfreesboro.

A son of the late Roy Gardner, Sr. and Sarah Martin Lauderdale Swindell, he was a native of Chicago, Illinois.  He was employed as a bus driver for Franklin Inter Urban Bus Lines, served in the US Navy, was of the Methodist faith, and a member of the VFW.

Mr. Swindell is survived by friend Frances McCloud of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  Higgins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
