Obituary

     Memorial services for Mrs. Kate Grisham Wyatt, age 79, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2PM Thursday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Allen Black and Rev. Tommy Ward officiating.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery beside her husband John Thomas Wyatt who died in 1979.  Mrs. Wyatt died Sunday afternoon in Huntsville along with her son William Brian Wyatt.

     She was a native of Athens, AL and the daughter of the late Marvin and Audra Bates Grisham.  Mrs. Wyatt was a retired Lincoln County teacher with 45 years of service and was a devoted wife, mother and teacher with a passion for teaching and loving children.  She was a spirited Democrat who loved God and her country and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.  She was also a member of the Sr. Round Dozen Club, Democrat Women of Lincoln County, N.A.M. I.,  and the Tennessee Teachers Association.

     Survivors include her children Andy Wyatt and wife Kande of Gallatin, TN, Jennifer Wyatt Haynes and husband Pat of Fayetteville, Johnny Wyatt and wife Lynn of Birmingham, AL, adopted sister Janice Sipes Fowler of Huntsville, Brother-in-law Don Wyatt of Fayetteville, uncle-in-law Garner Peck of Fayetteville, grandchildren Angie Haynes Mefford of Fayetteville, Aaliyah Wyatt of Birmingham, AL, Lacey Sims of Birmingham, AL, three great grandchildren and numerous cousins.  She was preceded in death by a grandchild Will Hinds who died in 2004.  Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening 5-8Pm at Higgins Funeral Home and Thursday from noon until 2PM at the First United Methodist Church.  Memorials may be made to the Kate Wyatt Scholarship Fund at the Bank of Lincoln County, Multi County Cancer Support Network, PO Box 225, Winchester, TN 37398, NAMI, P. O. Box 1450, Fayetteville, TN 37334, or Fayetteville First United Methodist Church.
