She enjoyed singing at home, word search puzzles, going out to eat with her family, and was an awesome Tonk card player. Mrs. McKin loved the Lord, and had given Him her soul to guide and keep. Violet passed away on April 28, 2019 at Donalson Care Center.

Survivors include her son, Jacky Wayne McKin; daughters, Robbie Lee (Bill) Blount, and Donna Joyce (Michael) Decker; grandchildren, Billy Wayne (Pam) McKin, Sherry LeAnne (Chris) Chapman, Sabrina McKin, Leshaun (Dennis) Hanntz, Dana Leigh Stevenson, Coltan (Mariah) Smith, Travis Walkington, and David Walkington; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother; two sisters; a dog named Buttons; and several cats. In addition to her parents and husband, Violet was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Crystal Gail McKin; and several brothers and sisters.
