Scott was a UT alumni and an avid follower of UT football and basketball. Go VOLS!!

Survivors include his wife, Susan Orr Beck; daughter, Lindsay Davis and husband Brent of Fayetteville; son, Scott Beck, Jr. and wife Maria of Weston, FL; grandchildren, Brenna Davis, Greta Davis, Andrew Beck, and Abby Beck; sister, Julie Fowler and husband Steve of McDonough, GA; brothers, David Beck and wife Alesia of Huntsville, Mike Osgood and wife Jane, Gary Osgood and wife Tina, and Ron Osgood and wife Tascha all of Fayetteville; and his step-mother, Mary Beck. Scott was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Grace Beck in 2009.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Grace Fund at Fayetteville First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 623, Fayetteville, TN 37334. This fund will be used to help local individuals with travel expenses for out-of-town medical care.

I had the honor to work with Scott at COLSA for many years. He was truly a talented engineer who was a joy to work with, but, as his obituary noted, there was no doubt that his family was the most important thing in his life. He spoke often so lovingly and proudly of all his children and grandchildren. I know his passing leaves a hole in many hearts. Please know that there are many who will always treasure his friendship and remember his kindnesses.

Oh Susan, I am so very sorry to hear of Scott’s passing. He was such a sweet and kind man who loved God and his family. I never saw him when he did not offer that wonderful smile and a hug. May God carry you and the family through in the days ahead. Again, I am so sorry and saddened. Scott was one that I truly admired.
