Mrs. Mitchell was blessed with her loving husband of almost 70 years, Edward Mitchell (deceased), and with their three children; Edwena (Harry) Cunningham, Wade Mitchell (deceased), and Nancy (Billy) McFadden. Surviving family members also include seven grandchildren; David (Stephanie) Mitchell, Dana (John III) Bryan, LeaAnne (Chris) Grissom, Betsy (Wayne) Davis, Misty (Blake) Fitzgerald, Eddie (Erinn) Cunningham, and Kyle (Ashley) Norwood; twenty great-grandchildren, as well as one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, December 27, 2022, from 5:00 until 8:00pm at Higgins Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Edwena and Nancy, I am so sorry to learn of your mama’s passing. She was so blessed with a good long life and love of her family. May your precious memories forever keep her close to you and may God bless you and comfort you as only He can.
She was a great lady I admired thru the years!
My grandmother Katie Lou Mitchell would talk about Mrs. Helen in a way that you knew she was a wonderful person. They were neighbors for 50 or more years. I spent the summers on Leatherwood Rd. for years. Those were wonderful times. I still think of Mr. Bud to the north and the Mitchell brothers to the south. All will be remembered fondly.
So sorry to hear of Mrs. Helen’s passing. She was always so nice and kind. Hugs to you, Edwena and Nancy. Prayers for your families.

Edwina and Nancy – Deepest Sympathy on the passing of Mrs. Helen. I have such fond memories of her little Sunday School class on the back pews in Dellrose.
We send our sympathy to Mrs. Mitchell’s family. You are in our thoughts and prayers for peace.
I only met Nanny in the last year or so. I’ve done work for her family and then for her fixing up her kitchen. In the short time I spent with her she made a big impact. She had me a sweet tea in a glass ready to go, and would let me know I was at home when I was at her house. I think a lot of her and her whole family! Enjoy Heaven Nanny!
