Helen O’Neal Mitchell

Mrs. Mitchell was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of E.R. O’Neal and Mary Gunter O’Neal. She was a member of Beech Grove Methodist Church. I only met Nanny in the last year or so. I’ve done work for her family and then for her fixing up her kitchen. In the short time I spent with her she made a big impact. She had me a sweet tea in a glass ready to go, and would let me know I was at home when I was at her house. I think a lot of her and her whole family! Enjoy Heaven Nanny!

Dear Edwena & Nancy, I feel richly blessed by knowing your Mom & Dad through the years as outstanding neighbors & friends. Parents like them are truly a treasure. I’ll never forget how kind they always were to me, especially when I spent time in your home. May God comfort you with the assurance that you will join Wade & them in heaven is my prayer. ❤️❤️❤️

My grandmother Katie Lou Mitchell would talk about Mrs. Helen in a way that you knew she was a wonderful person. They were neighbors for 50 or more years. I spent the summers on Leatherwood Rd. for years. Those were wonderful times. I still think of Mr. Bud to the north and the Mitchell brothers to the south. All will be remembered fondly.
