Funeral service for Mr. George “Eddie” Hastings, Jr., age 58, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. John King and Bro. Jim Black officiating. Burial will follow in Old Orchard Cemetery. Mr. Hastings passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Bailey Manor.
Mr. Hastings was a native of Lincoln County, TN, the son of the late George Edward and Barbara Sanford Hastings, Sr. He was a foreman and truck driver for Childress Concrete and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his daughters Adrienne (Joe) Cummins of Fayetteville, TN, Alicia (Travis) Barley of Elora, TN, grandchildren William Cummins V, Addison Cummins both of Fayetteville, TN, sisters Geraldene (Billy) Pentecost of Nashville, TN, Debra (John) King of Murfreesboro, TN, and friend Cheryl Barnes of Fayetteville, TN. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother James Howard, brothers Richard Hastings and Tim Hastings.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Washington Street Church of Christ Honduras Mission Fund.
I met Eddie years ago when the girls were playing basketball at the old Petersburg School. I always enjoyed being around him. He was a good guy and I really thought a lot of him. I’m really sorry that he had to leave his family at such a young age. May God keep you all in his care.
