Ms. Olivene was a cherished member of the Washington Street Church of Christ “Lunch Bunch” for many years. It was an honor to have her as part of our Sunday meals and Bible studies. She will be missed, but not forgotten!
she was always so special to me…went out of her way to remember me in very nice ways…
I count myself as fortunate to have been in Miss Olivene’s Sunday School classes. She was such a dear Christian lady and what an example for us! Washington Street children were better for having had Miss Olivene as a part of our lives. My sympathy to you.
There has never been a sweeter, kinder person than Ms. Olivene. Her presence at church will be dearly missed. I count it an honor to have known this great Christian lady.

I was saddened to learn of Ms Olivene’s death. I have fond memories of her. I brought my Mother to Wednesday morning Bible class for a few years and she always helped me get her in and out of the car and sat with her until I got plates fixed when we went to lunch. We always went in the same car so I would not have trouble. She is a friend I will always remember as kind, giving and a Christian lady.
Miss Pigg was a constant good example for me at the Washington Street Church of Christ where I attended throughout my childhood and adolescence.
To the Family,
Ollivene was our neighbor across the alley for many years and was very kind to help check on Daddy when Mother was in the hospital and very ill. She and my daddy and mother went to school with Ollivene (Joel and Jean Dyer).
Our prayers and thoughts are with the family.
