Funeral services for Mrs. Villa Pitts Cannon, age 86 of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2PM Thursday afternoon at Higgins Funeral Home with Dr. Calvin Todd officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens beside her husband Ernest “Flip” Cannon who died in 1998. Mrs. Cannon died Monday night in Lincoln Medical Center. She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Marion T. and Maie Tucker Pitts. Mrs. Cannon worked for Jonathan Logan for twenty-five years and was a member of the Fayetteville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her daughter Kaye Scruggs and husband Clay of Memphis, sister Frances P. Lanier of Fayetteville and two grandchildren Abby and Tim Scruggs both of Memphis. Visitation with the family will be Thursday from noon until 2PM at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to St. Jude Children?s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
