Today I searched Google to make sure Ruth was still residing in Steger because I was hoping to send her a Christmas card and let her know that Joe and I miss her. We met Ruth and Al at Shakamak through our brother-in-law, and went to visit them every return trip after that.

She was one of those people who you don’t just say you miss, but one who you really ache to see again.

    We loved her.

Velma Ruth was a dear friend. We met 30 years ago through my Avon business and continued to grow closer as the years went by. We were able to share anything, pray about everything, and enjoy many wonderful times. She would do everything to the best of her ability. She was devoted to her family and went to great measures to make sure she provided for them. I’ll miss our visits and the way she touched my life. I will keep her tucked away in the special spot she has in my heart. She struggled hard with her health over the past year but always had a beautiful attitude and trusted the Lord for all her needs. I’m a better person because of her. She loved the Lord with all her heart and now is safely home with Him.
