Obituary

On March 9, 2014, Vandie Lynn Davis left this life to spend eternity with her Lord Jesus.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Laurene Reese.

Vandie leaves behind family and friends who will miss her greatly.  Survivors include her husband Ray, daughter Brittany (Chad) Barnett, step-son Brent (Lindsay) Davis, aunt Hazel (Sam) Beddingfield, granddaughters Brenna and Greta Davis, and grand-dog Booger.

Vandie was an active member of Parks City Baptist Church.  She was employed by Ralph Askins Elementary as a library assistant.

Vandie’s legacy is her love of children. While she only had one biological child, Vandie touched the lives of thousands of children.  “Ms. Vandie” is a well-known name to any parent of a Ralph Askins’ student.  Vandie also spent countless hours volunteering in community projects to include the annual Fabulous Fifties Show and the Relay for Life.

In lieu of flowers, Vandie requested that tributes be made to the Ralph Askins Library or Parks City Baptist Building Fund

Following a private family burial, memorial services will be held Tuesday, March 11 at 2:00 pm at Parks City Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Russell officiating.  Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5-8 pm at Higgins Funeral Home.

Davis family- we are so sorry for the passing of Vandie. There are not many childhood memories I have that don’t include the Davis family! I can’t think of any words to say that would offer any relief to the pain the your family is going through. But I know she is in a better place. She will be truly missed. We will be praying for the Davis family.
