Obituary

A graveside service for Thomas Alexander Taylor, age 87, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 9:30am on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Riverview Memorial Gardens with Chad Hancock and Donnie Browning officiating. There will be no visitation with the family prior to the service.

Thomas was born October 13, 1936, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Roy Tillman and Bessie Benson Taylor. Thomas was a kind-hearted man who loved working with his hands. He was a skilled handyman, always fixing something, and worked at Wal-Mart as a display assembler. Thomas was a member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church, and previously was a deacon and worked in the bus ministry at West End Baptist Church for many years. He passed away February 4, 2024, at Covenant Manor Assisted Living in Fayetteville.

Survivors include his sister, Avis Mitchell; niece and caregiver, Sheila Simms; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Mae Simmons Taylor; daughter, Angelia Renee Taylor; brothers and sisters, J.D. Taylor, Syrenia Norman, Rosa Lee Steele, Grover Bennett, Ruth Ramsey, Virginia Simms, Carl Taylor, James Taylor, Vernon Taylor, Roy Taylor, Jr., Harold Dean Taylor, Robert Earl Taylor, and Joe Donald Taylor.
