Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Lee May Pirtle Jennings, age 91 of Fayetteville will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery.  Mrs. Jennings passed away Monday following a long illness.

A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late James Robert and Daisy Dean Woods May, a homemaker and a member of the West End Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jennings was preceded in death by her husbands Elzie Pirtle and Carl Jennings and a son John Robert Pirtle.

Survivors are a daughter: Carolyn Simmons and husband Rema of Shelbyville, a sister: Mildred Raby of Fayetteville, four grandchildren: Gene Simmons, Michelle Eley,  and Shelia Brown all of Shelbyville, and John Robert Pirtle, Jr. of Lynchburg, 10 great- grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, several step-great-grandchildren and a special great niece: Tina Moore.

The Jennings family will receive friends at Higgins Funeral Home from 5 until 8 PM Wednesday evening.
