Graveside service for Sue Ellen Wright, age 81, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 3:30pm on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Macedonia Cemetery with Bro. Gary Wright officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 2pm until 3pm on Friday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Sue was born May 20, 1942, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Charles Lewis Wright and Sarah Estelle Knight Wright Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Monks, Elma Goforth, Mary Rogers, and Martha Cook, and brothers, Lewis Wright, Oscar Wright, Levi Wright, Bruce Wright, and Ralph Wright.

A true Southern Belle, she always had her jewelry on, her hair done, and a smile on her face. Sue was a very kind, caring person and many times thought of others before herself. She enjoyed crocheting, painting, watching her beloved Westerns, and eating “country” cooking and chocolate. Sue also loved participating in the Special Olympics playing bocce ball and bowling, the B Team Angels, and singing. Sue had a sweet spirit that will be missed by all who knew her. She passed away August 14, 2023, at her home.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews; longtime boyfriend, Steve Meeks; and her many friends and caregivers with Skills Development Services.

Oh how I loved me some Sue! She has known me since I was little bitty when my mama Kathy Jennings took care of her and then when I would come to work at the center too. We will miss that sweet smile of yours.
