Obituary

Funeral service for SFC (Ret.) Mancil T. Cato, age 77, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted at 1 PM on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Mylon Metcalf officiating. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday at 12 PM until time of service at 1 PM. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Cato.

Mancil was born on July 13, 1941 in Warrior, AL to the late Tobie and Gladys Aaron Cato. He served his country during the Vietnam War and retired from the United States Army after 23 years of service. SSGT (Ret.) Cato passed away on March 5, 2019.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jeanell Flynn Cato; sister, Linda Cato of Hayden, AL; children, David (Diane) Cato of New Mexico, Marie (Richard) Volking of Fairhope, AL, Penny Cato (Dan Quinn) of Chicago, IL, and Pepper (Doug) McKelvy of Baileyton, AL; grandchildren, Sarah, Lori, Amber, Alexandra, Molly, and Toby; and three great-grandchildren.
