Obituary

Funeral service for SGT (Ret.) Michael Steven Clark, Sr., age 59, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted at 4 PM on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Mayo officiating. Burial will follow in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be held at 2 PM until time of service at 4 PM on Sunday at Higgins. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of SPC (Ret.) Michael Steven Clark, Sr.

Michael was born on July 13, 1959 in Hamilton County, TN to the late Charles and Marilyn Clark. He served in the United States Army National Guard and worked as a welder for Amana Manufacturing and Sergeant at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. He was a member of Victory Chapel in Park City and loved his church family. His hobbies included guns, hunting, grilling and bowling. He bowled for over 40 years and was in the Red Stone Mens League. He had a passion for Tennessee Titans Football and had been a season ticket holder since the team moved to Tennessee. He was also a referee for TSSAA for both football and baseball for over 15 years. Mr. Clark passed away on May 1, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Pickett Clark; children, Michael S. (Leslie) Clark, Jr. of Fayetteville, TN, April (Ryan) James Fayetteville, TN, and Dulana Clark-Trail of Bixby, OK; grandchildren, Michael Steven Clark, III, Aries Jaxon Clark, Ethan James, Caitlyn James, Brooklyn James, Samantha James, and Sophia Robinson; and brother, Mitch (Kim) Clark of Pulaski, TN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Clark, and grandfather, Papa Clark.

    Sorry for your loss, Mike was a great friend and a great mentor at the Sheriff’s Dept and a good supervisor I always knew when I went into a cell block he always had my back and I always had his. I pray god brings peace and comfort in this time of need. He will be greatly missed.
