Obituary

Funeral service for Mrs. Sara Barnes Goode, age 78, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow next to her husband, Jerry Wayne Goode, in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Goode was born on August 18, 1939 in Fayetteville, TN to the late Colyar Lloyd and Lela Bryant Barnes. After retiring as a seamstress from Serbin Manufacturing, she began a career in at-home child care, which she enjoyed most of all. Mrs. Goode was also a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She passed away on October 26, 2017 at Lincoln Care Center.

Survivors include her sons, Roger and Brian Goode of Fayetteville, TN and Jamie (Allison) Goode of Huntsville, AL; and grandchildren, Maddox, Carley Beth, Carson, and Audrey Goode. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne and Philip Barnes and sister, Dorothy Barnes-Smith.

Visitation with the family will be held Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 12 PM until time of service at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Sara Barnes Goode.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association at P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.
