Obituary

Sally Ann Albright, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, at the age of 97. She was born in Fayetteville, TN, to the late William T. Bader and Malcolm Sugg Bader Howard.

Sally Ann married her high school sweetheart, Billy Joe Albright, and together they owned and operated Albright’s Grocery for many years. Throughout her career, she also worked as a secretary for the Trustee’s Office and Byrd & Bullington Veterinary Clinic and later served as a beloved teacher’s aide at Highland Rim School.

Known for her sharp wit and great sense of humor—which remained vibrant throughout her entire life—Sally Ann was a content soul who cherished the simple pleasures in life. She loved spending quiet time fishing and cheering on UT Football. Above all, she adored her family and was very giving to her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Pat (Gary) Patrick and Jeff Albright; grandchildren, Garrett (Shawna) Patrick, Sally (Scott) Fisher, Lenley (James) Morris, and Clay (Cheyenne) Albright; and great-grandchildren, Maverick, Westley, Anna, Riley, Ayden, and Jaxon.

In addition to her parents, Sally Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Albright.

Private graveside services were held at Riverview Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt, special thank you to Sally Ann’s longtime caregiver, Ginger Spurlock, as well as the staff at Viva Senior Living at Lincoln, for the exceptional love and care shown to their mother.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

Higgins Funeral Home is privileged to offer comfort, care, and support to the family of Sally Ann Albright.

Our momma (Juanita Towry) and her talked every week , until SallyAnn went to the rehab center and then when they could talk they would talk for hours. She was one of my very favorite people in Fayetteville. We rarely if ever came to town without seeing her. Played much golf and had a life time of pleasure with Blue Bird going back to cheering for him in basketball in the old high school before it burned. Sorry for Jeff and Pat.
