Obituary

Funeral service for Russell Wayne Moyers, age 76, of Fayetteville, TN will be held at 2pm on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Ian Bloxham officiating. Burial will follow in Stewart Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5pm until 7pm on Thursday, February 2 at Higgins.

Wayne was born January 15, 1947, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Russell and Trudell Henderson Moyers. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a self-employed welder. Wayne was a quiet man who enjoyed spending time in his shop as well as watching wrestling and Bonanza. He passed away January 31, 2023, at Lincoln Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Survivors include his sons, Johnny (Tandie) Moyers and Scotty Moyers, both of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Moyers of Athens, AL, Ella Moyers of Fayetteville, and Seth Moyers of Fayetteville; brothers, Ronnie (Darlene) Moyers and Joe (Lana) Moyers of Fayetteville; sisters, Barbara (Stacy) Gershowitz of Franklin, TN, and Faye Lear of Missouri. Wayne is also survived by his bonus children, Rachel Sharp, Cindy (Tony) Jackson both of Fayetteville, and Jerry (Angie) Sharp of Winchester; bonus grandchildren, Steven Hill, Jason Jackson, Justin Jackson, Jordan (Lexie) Sharp, Lindsey Sharp, Jace Sharp, Jade (Brandon) Daws; 11 bonus great-grandchildren, and one bonus great-great-granddaughter. In addition to his parents. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Mae Moyers.
