I am shocked and saddened to learn of my “Aunt Ruby’s” passing so late. I’m the daughter of one of her cousins and we spoke about 3 times a year on the phone. I know how much she loved her dogs and how deeply tied she was to her work and her Fayetteville community. I’m so sorry she didn’t retire and get to spend some unencumbered time in Fayetteville. I wish I could have been there to help in those final weeks or months. Love you, Ruby, enjoy eternity with Sassy and your loved ones.

Ruby didn’t have a family of her own so she adopted ours over 30 years ago. Many fun shopping trips and she would go to any lengths to find my grandson hard to find drinks or the impossible to find game he wanted. We had a shopping trip planned the day she called me from the clinic to take her to the hospital & within a couple of hours we knew she was battling stage four lung cancer. I hope in some way by taking her to every doctor appointment, chemo, radiation and emergency room trips that I repaid some of the kindness she gave to my family. She will be missed from our “girls movie Sundays” that we have been doing the last couple of years.
We regret that we won’t be able to attend the memorial. Rest In Peace my dear friend.

I met Ruby-two years ago through Judi Petty. We met every Sunday for dinner and a movie. We became fast friends and bonded over our dogs. She would often bring treats for my dogs. Ruby was a very generous person she often helped those in need. Ruby was a Christian woman with a strong faith.
Her best friend Judy Petty received the news of her illness back last August. I just want to thank Judi and her family for her tireless help of taking Ruby to the Doctor and taking care of everything. I know how much Ruby loved you and I know how much she will be missed.

I am sorry to hear about Ruby, didn’t get to see her much with her living in Nashville. I have known Ruby all her life, knew her Mother and Father, they were so proud of her. Her Uncle Mr Clinton Wallace lived up the street from me when I was a little girl. I think Ruby has one cousin I know of , Clint McCown, he is Mr C. Wallace’s grandson.
