Graveside service for Ms. Ruby Maddox Moffett, age 88, of Taft, TN will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Riverview Memorial Gardens with Bro. Jeremy Hudgins officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 3 PM to 6 PM on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Higgins Funeral Home.
Ruby was born on October 26, 1932 in Lincoln County, TN to the late Lindsey and Dana Koonce Pitts. She was a graduate of Central High School where she was the captain of the basketball team during her senior year. Ruby worked at Serbin Manufacturing for eighteen years. She loved working on the farm, caring for the animals, as well as, cooking, canning, and baking. Ruby looked forward to First Monday’s, mule and wagon rides, and later in life, she loved attending her class reunions and Sunday afternoon drives. She attended Kirkland Baptist Church. Ruby passed away on October 31, 2020 at Elk River Health and Rehab with her family by her side.
Ruby is survived by her sons, Rickie Thompson, and Lindsey Millican; step grandchildren, Tom (Holly) Maddox, Jim Maddox, and Nancy Maddox; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband’s, Frank Thompson, James Maddox, and Bill Moffett; and siblings, Floyd Pitts, Jack Pitts, Lucille Carlisle, and Sarah Luna.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fayetteville Lincoln County Animal Shelter, 1718 Pulaski Highway, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

I went through 4 yrs of high school with Ruby, she was a very good basket ball player all 4 years. Ruby was nice to everyone, she had a son that was so good to her, Rickie Thompson and a niece, Kandy Carlisle that took care of her also. Ruby will be missed.
So sorry ,Mrs Ruby was such a good lady and friend of the family of Juanita Towry , neighbor and friend always on the lookout for. Everyone,prayers to all the family.
