Obituary

Funeral service for Ruby Jean Dunivan, age 85, of Dellrose, TN, will be held at 2 PM on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. John Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until the time of service on Monday at Higgins.

Ruby was born on June 30, 1938, in Lincoln Co., TN to the late Dee Whitt Mullins and Lela Mae Hall Mullins. Mrs. Dunivan graduated from the Boonshill School and was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church. She worked for the Lee Company as an inspector for 15 years and later retired as a kitchen manager at the Lincoln County Jail. Ruby passed away on September 23, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital Lincoln Health in Fayetteville, TN.

Survivors include her son, Dee Dunivan and his fiancé Becky Crews; nephew, Doyle Smith and his wife Stephanie, and their children Chandler and Whitley Smith; and numerous cousins. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Wayne Dunivan; brother, Thomas “Bubba” Wyndell Mullins; and sisters, Glendale Mullins, and Robbie Jane Smith.
