Funeral service for Mr. Rogers Towry, age 83, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Will Wells and Rev. Ann Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Cemetery. Mr. Towry passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016.
Mr. Towry was born in Lincoln County on June 9, 1933, to the late Mildred Towry Smith. He was the president of the 1952 Blanche High School graduating class, the purchasing agent for Amana from 1968 until 1995. He was a veteran of the Army and a member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Marcia Towry of Fayetteville, TN, daughters Holly (Marty) Towry Euverard of Franklin, TN, Sarah (Jerry) DeCamp of Lynchburg, TN, Lara (Rob) Towry Phillips of Christiana, TN, grandchildren Megan (Jason) Euverard Elam, Jessica E. Euverard, Cole M. Euverard, Kerry-Anne E. DeCamp, great grandchildren Jake, Caroline and Luke Elam, brother Lynn (Linda) Smith of Moncks Corner, SC and several first cousins.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 5-8 pm at Higgins Funeral Home and Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 1 until 2 pm at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
