It is with deep sorrow that the family of Rita Mitchell Watson, age 69, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, announces her passing. Rita was born on October 5, 1955, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, to the late Marion Cooper Curtis and Winnie Ruth McGee Curtis. She passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville, Alabama.
Rita was a gifted artisan who specialized in designing and building custom photo frames. Her creativity and dedication were cherished by many, as seen through her work at RD Williams Gifts and the Lincoln County Warrior Exhibit. In addition to her artistic endeavors, she found joy in diamond painting, crafting pieces that brought beauty and comfort to those around her.
She is survived by her daughter, Heather Keith; grandchildren, Tyler (Elizabeth) Keith and Ashley Keith; great-grandchildren, Olivia Keith and Lauren Keith; sister, Lesia (David Sr.) Bergman; nephew, David (Andrea) Bergman Jr.; niece, Amy (Kevin) Fitch; and many other beloved nieces, nephews, family members, and close friends.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her first husband, Morris Lee Mitchell, and her second husband, Larry Wayne Watson.
To honor Rita’s memory, an inurnment service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2024, at Shiloh Cemetery. Brief remarks will be shared by Kevin Fitch and Mark Colbert.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Shiloh Cemetery Fund, c/o Teresa Gentry, 12 Cunningham Hollow Road, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

Rita was so much a part of the Lincoln County Warrior Exhibit and Frame Shop. We will miss her. She was a vital member of our family and will always be missed. Fly high Rita!!

I saw Rita a few weeks back and as always ,so full of joy.She always shared our old times and we cherished those.She was a beautiful caring talented lady and will be missed by so many.May God wrap his arms around all Rita’s Family and Friends.
