Funeral service for Mr. Richard Thomas Johnson, Sr., known as Tommy, age 83, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 2 PM on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Higgins Funeral Home, with Bro. Tommy Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the Medium Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 12 PM until 2 PM on Sunday at Higgins.

Tommy was born on January 13, 1938 in McMinnville, TN to the late James Edwin and Evelyn Quinn Johnson. He served in the U.S. Navy and was of the Southern Baptist Faith. Mr. Johnson earned his Bachelors in Engineering from the University of California, and worked as a Computer Software Engineer in Washington, D.C. He passed away on April 6, 2021 at NHC in Columbia, TN.

Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Hall (Ricky Slatton) of Prospect, TN; son, Richard Thomas Johnson, Jr., of Virginia; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; half-sisters, Anna Marie Johnson Long and Joy; and a nephew, Greg Long. In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his step-mother, Frances Bassham Johnson.
