Graveside services for Mr. Richard E. Smith, age 81, of Fayetteville will be conducted Sunday at 2:30pm at Riverview Memorial Gardens with Bro. Tom Russell officiating and Higgins Funeral Home in charge of services.  Mr. Smith passed away Thursday April 15 at Lincoln Care Center.

He was the son of the late Harry N. and Mamie Flynt Smith, a veteran of the Korean War stationed in Germany.  Mr. Smith was retired employee of Redstone Arsenal and was a member of the Elk Valley Church of Christ.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman, artifact collector and enjoyed reading western books

Survivors include a brother Gene Smith of Harvest, AL, sister Alice Smith of Fayetteville, 10 nieces and nephews and a special caregiver Raymond Whiteley.

He was preceded in death by sisters Dorothy Bigham, Frances Pack, Zelma Lee Smith and brother Harry W. Smith.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 1:30pm until 2:30pm at Higgins Funeral Home
