Obituary

Graveside funeral service for Mr. Richard Don Bouldin, age 81, of Smyrna, TN, will be conducted at 2 PM on Friday, January 18, 2019, at Stewarts Creek Cemetery. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Bouldin. Todd Bouldin, his son, will officiate. Pallbearers will be Neyland Jean, Logan Jean, Carson Jean, Chandler Jean, Stan Jean and David Jenkins.

Mr. Bouldin was born on November 20, 1937 in Fayetteville, TN to the late Ted Bouldin and Edith Jones Bouldin. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He attended Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee Knoxville. He served as a computer operator for the United States Space Program at Boeing in Huntsville, AL before he settled into his role as Telecommunications Manager for the State of Tennessee and St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. Don lovingly cared for his wife, Carol, who suffered from a chronic disease for 40 years and sacrificed so his son, Todd, could attend college and finish. He was a faithful member of Old Jefferson Church of Christ and a lover of CNN, the newspaper, coffee and his dog, Jack. Mr. Bouldin passed away on January 15, 2019 in Smyrna, TN.

Survivors include his son, Todd Bouldin of Atlanta, GA; his beloved dog, Jack Daniels; half brother, Ted Bouldin, Jr.; cousins, Faye Todd, Candis Coleman, Sue Boyd, Jeff Daniels, Missy Henderson, Sue Bouldin Parrott, and Liz Bouldin McGee; sister-in-law, Linda Jean and husband Stan; and dear other cousins, nephews and nieces in Kentucky and Tennessee whom he loved. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Carol Brooks Bouldin, and parents, Ted and Edith Bouldin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Jefferson Church of Christ, 314 Old Jefferson Pike, Smyrna, TN 37167, or Brightfocus Foundation, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
