Obituary

Funeral service for Mr. Richard “Dickie” Bolles, age 78, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 11 AM on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Bolles was born on April 13, 1940 in Fayetteville, TN to the late Irvin Alexander and Verne Irene Finney Bolles. He was the owner of Bolles Realty & Auction. He was a member of Fayetteville Church of God, previously attended West End Baptist Church and grew up in Fayetteville First Baptist Church. He was a football and baseball coach and teacher at Flintville High School. He was also an Elks Lodge and Masonic Lodge member for 30 years. Mr. Bolles passed away on January 29, 2019 at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Dean Kimbrough Bolles; son, Richard Bradford “Brad” Bolles both of Fayetteville, TN; daughter, Janna Marie Bolles (Greg) Shope of Cookeville, TN; Brad and Janna’s mother, Janice Bolles; granddaughter, Cassie Shope of Cookeville, TN; sister, Lynn (Frank) Drewry of Murfreesboro, TN; and special companion, Lady the Dog.

Visitation with the family will be held at 4 PM until 7 PM on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Higgins Funeral Home. Elks Rights will be offered at 7 PM by Elks Lodge Post 1792.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fayetteville – Lincoln County Humane Society at 1718 Pulaski Hwy, Fayetteville, TN 37334. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Bolles.

    Last night on one of my frequent drives around the Fayetteville Square I noticed Dickie’s Real Estate office & wondered how he was. Isn’t it strange how you think of a person & the next day you read their obituary. I have known him thru the years as an outgoing businessman who truly enjoyed interacting with people & making friends. Can’t you just see his million dollar smile at that “big auction” in heaven? What a happy reunion! My sympathy to the family. RIP Dickie, with no pain or worries.
