Richard (Dick) Alan Barnard, 84, of Franklin, NC, passed away on September 12, 2024, in Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Winchester, TN. Dick was born on August 1, 1940, in Lyons, New York to Lois and Harry Barnard. He graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School in 1958 and served in the US Army.
Dick was known for his outgoing personality, love of all things space related and his faithful service in the church, where, among other roles, he served as an elder at Calvary Presbyterian in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, as well as Rio Vista Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, as well as his two daughters, Sharon and Amy and his sister, Marian Strong. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and his sister Muriel.
The family will receive friends and family from 2 PM until 3 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home. The service will follow at 3 PM with Military Honors. A reception will immediately follow the service at Higgins Funeral Home (213 East Market Street, Fayetteville, TN 37334).

Dick will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. We look forward to a joyful reunion in glory.
