Funeral services for Mr. Richard D. (Dickie) Askins, age 62 of Fayetteville will be conducted at 11AM Friday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Van Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Askins passed away Wednesday November 19 at Lincoln Medical Center.
He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of William R. Askins Sr. and Dean Smith Askins who survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, office manager of Askins Publishing Company and a member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother Dean Askins of Fayetteville, brother Bill Askins Jr of Fayetteville, nieces and nephews Shawn Askins of Knoxville, Dawn Dixon of Fayetteville, Luke Askins of Maynardville, TN, Amana Franks of Fayetteville and Andrea Askins of Memphis and six great nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday 5-8PM Thursday at Higgins Funeral Home.
