Graveside funeral service for Mr. Ray Wilson Jacks, age 91, of Elora, TN will be conducted at 11 AM on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Elora Cemetery with Bro. Mike Robertson officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
Ray was born on May 29, 1929 in Elora, Lincoln County, Tennessee to the late Raymon Ellis and Ruby Zell Hardin Jacks. He was a graduate of Flintville High School and served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a jet engine mechanic. Mr. Jacks retired from US Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal, was a Lincoln County Circuit Court officer for 20 years, and served 3 terms as a Lincoln Co. Commissioner. Ray loved being outdoors working on his farm, hunting, rooting for the Atlanta Braves, and he was a member of the Elora Baptist Church. Mr. Jacks passed away on August 14, 2020 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Survivors include his wife of almost 59 years, Nellie Ruth Fenn Jacks; children, Marilyn (Gary) Davis of Murfreesboro, TN; Pamela (Dennis) Atkinson of Old Hickory, TN; and Andy (Patricia) Jacks of Elora; grandchildren, Wendie (Jamie) Thompson, Christopher Davis, and Alan (Jennifer) Davis; and great-grandchildren, Ben Thompson, Grant Thompson, Tennyson Davis, and Presley Davis. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jacks was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe L., and Bob H. Jacks.
At Elora Cemetery, Eric Reed, Butch Collins, Vince Rutledge, Charlie Morgan, Bernie Cushman, and Nicky Scivally will serve as active pallbearers. Billy Dodson and Malcom Gardner will serve as honorary pallbearers.

So sorry, Ray was one of my favorite cousins even though we didn’t see each other often he holds a special place in my heart he will be truly missed. May God comfort you in your loss.
I sat next to Mr. Ray for many years while he worked with the Court. He was always so pleasant and kind. My condolences to his family.
Mr. Jacks holds a warm spot in my heart. We worked together for 20 years in the court system. We laughed a lot, worked long hours during trials and he was a good trooper. Did a great job. He was a special man and will be greatly missed.
