Obituary

Funeral service for Mr. Ray Barhorst, age 76 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Saturday
at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Black officiating. Burial will follow in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens beside his wife Fayetta Barhorst who passed away in 2012. Mr. Barhorst passed away Saturday at St. Thomas Hospital.

He was a native of Kingsbury, IN and the son of the late Bud and Martha Barhorst and a retired Nuclear Weapons Technician. Mr. Barhorst was a highly decorated veteran of the U. S. Army and received the Purple Heart while serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the RV Club, Washington Street Church of Christ, Elks Lodge and was a Tennessee Squire. He was an International Boy Scout Leader and avid golfer. Mr. Barhorst loved his family dearly.

Survivors include his children Fred (Susan) Barhorst of Albertville, AL, Vicki (Danny) Kranz of Huntsville, AL, Barbara Barhorst of Huntsville, AL, Brian (Patricia) Hunt of Gettysburg, PA, and Jill (William) Davis of Auburn, AL, twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Rebecca Jane Anderson.

Visitation with the family will be Friday evening 4-8 p.m. and Saturday 10-11am at Higgins Funeral Home.
