Obituary

Funeral services for Ralph J. Glapion, age 61 of Petersburg, will be conducted Thursday at 1:00PM at the Hope Assembly of God with Pastor Ben Johnson officiating. Mr. Glapion passed away Saturday in Huntsville Hospital.

A native of New Orleans, LA, Mr. Glapion was the son of the late Walter “Jamica” and Josephine Grubbs Glapion, Sr., was a veteran of the U.S. Army, an Electrical engineer and an avid outdoorsman.

Survivors include his wife Jan Elders Glapion of Petersburg, daughter Shannon M. Glapion of New Orleans, LA, sons Ian M. Glapion of Fayetteville, TN, Michael (Tina) Dillen of Spanish Fort, AL, and Sgt. Samuel Jason Konecny of Ft. Hood, TX, two
grandchildren Jaylen Christopher Richard Glapion of New Orleans, LA and Samantha Marie Konecny, sisters Joyce Glapion Shanklin of Fayetteville, TN, Kay (Malcolm) Bonseigneur of New Orleans, LA, brother Walter A. Glapion Jr and fiance Kathy Wilcox of New Orleans, LA, brothers-in-law Gary Elders and Jeff (Amanda) Elders of Theodore, AL, and a host of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Glapion was preceded in death by sister Fern Glapion Brady, brother-in-law Edward “Papa Shank” Shanklin and sister-in-law Brenda Sissac Glapion.

Ralph never met a stranger and was an all round cool guy.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 10am-1pm at Hope Assembly of God.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forever Wild, 64 N. Union St., Montgomery, AL 36130
