Funeral service for Philip Ross Gault, age 83, of Petersburg, TN, will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Round Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 4 PM until 7 PM on Monday at Higgins Funeral Home.
Philip was born on May 15, 1940, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Albert Gault and Mabel Bates Gault. Philip was a graduate of Petersburg High School and served in the US Army. He attended the Petersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a very active member of the Petersburg Lions Club. Mr. Gault enjoyed being outdoors and fishing. He worked for EATON and was a lifelong farmer. He passed away on April 5, 2024, at Marshall Medical Center in Lewisburg, TN.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Peggy Pickle Gault; daughters, Pam (Richard) Thornton, and Melissa Simmons; grandchildren, Dustin Thornton, Destiny (Garrett) Jones, Olivia (Logan) McNeill, and Barrett Simmons; great-granddaughter, Amelia Jones; sisters, Joyce (Levoyd) Taylor, Kay Naron, Annie Pearl Thomas, and Brenda (Wayne) Bradford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
