Obituary

Funeral service for Penney Michelle Currin, age 53, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 12 PM on Friday, September 30, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Aaron Dunnavant officiating. Burial will follow in the Wright’s Cemetery.

Penney was born on June 12, 1969, in Fayetteville, TN, to the late Edgar Wayne & Shirley Ann Birdwell Nichols. She was a graduate of Fayetteville Cosmetology School and a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church. Mrs. Currin was affectionally known as “MeowMeow” to her grandchildren, and she loved spending time with them. Penney passed away on September 25, 2022, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, AL.

Survivors include her husband, of 25 years, Fred Currin; children, Richie (Monica) Conner, Justice (McKayla) Conner, Elizabeth Currin, and Stefanie (Joey) Warden; grandchildren, Bella Mae Conner, Olivia Marie Conner, Ryan Sloan Conner, Caleb Warden, Chloe Warden, and Cara Warden; and brothers, Steve (Sheila) Nichols, Tony Nichols, and Chuck (Kim) Nichols. In addition to her parents, Penney was preceded in death by her brothers, Doug and Ronnie Nichols.

Visitation with the family will be from 10 AM until the time of service at 12 PM on Friday at Higgins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Russel Hill Cancer Foundation, 3601 CCI Drive, Huntsville, AL 35805.
