Obituary

Peggy Elaine Bradford, age 84, Fayetteville, Tennessee passed away on March 10, 2026, at home with her family. Born on February 1, 1942, in Elora, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late James Lee Black and Eliza Mae Black.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, DeDra (Jerry) Baker, and son Jeff (Tanya) Bradford. She was the proud Nannie to Amanda (Brandon) Bryant, Chad (Kristina) Baker, Kristen (TJ) James, Nicholas (Renee) Bradford, Jesse Bradford, David (Grace) Bradford, Tim Bates, Timberly Bates, and Trevor Bates; and great-grandmother (Nannie) to Madison (Logan) Hudson, Chase McCormick, Jake, Levi, and Luke Bates, Emma and Gunter Bates, Amber and Ben James, and James; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Harold David Bradford; and by her brothers, Bud, Kenneth, and Scotty Black; and her sisters, Jeanie Yott and Mildred Capley.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Smith and Jeff Stovall officiating. Burial will follow in Stewart Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 12 PM to 2 PM on Sunday at Higgins.

For those who wish to honor Peggy’s memory, the family suggests donations be made to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 1015 Lewisburg Highway, Fayetteville, Tennessee 37334, or Lincoln Medical Hospital Foundation or Lincoln Medical Hospice at 106 Medical Center Boulevard, Fayetteville, Tennessee 37334.
