Funeral service for Patty Seals, age 73, of Vanntown, TN, will be held at 4 PM on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Gardner and Bro. James Strope officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Patty was born on November 3, 1948, at the old Lincoln County Hospital in Fayetteville, TN to the late William Odell and Wilma Idova Cantrell Noblett. Mrs. Seals was a 1967 graduate of Central High School. Following graduation, Ms. Seals earned her x-ray technician license and enjoyed a wonderful first career in the medical field. Later, she went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Athens State University and had a successful second career that she truly loved as Chief of Resource Management for the U.S. Army.
Patty loved hosting big family celebrations and you would always find her famous blackberry cobbler on her exquisitely set tables. After receiving a diagnosis that would dishearten many, she continued to live her life to the fullest. Although she had to set aside her love of traveling the world, she continued to live her life with the freest and fullest spirit including making special memories with family and friends, working in her flower beds, reading, spoiling her grandchildren, and listening to the birds on the patio of her centurion farm which was her home for over 50 years.
She was a lifelong member of Lincoln Baptist Church. Patty passed away peacefully on June 19, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving husband and daughters.
Patty married the love of her life, Carroll Seals, on June 22, 1968, at Lincoln Baptist Church. To their union, they had two beautiful daughters, Allison Goode of Huntsville, AL, and Shelby (Michael) Foster of Vanntown. In addition to her devoted husband and daughters, she leaves behind many who admired her and were inspired by her journey including grandchildren, Carley Beth (Andrew) Creech, Carson Goode, Audrey Goode, Tripp Foster, and Tess Foster; sisters, Ariena Brady and Shelia Bartlett; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her niece, Carla Payne.
Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home. Patty lived a beautiful, vibrant life and was always fashionable including beautiful hats at every proper occasion. The family kindly invites you to wear your favorite millinery to the service on Wednesday evening to remember and celebrate the life of their beloved Grandpatty.
Patty loved flowers but she also had a very generous heart. Memorials may be made to the Fabulous Fifties Foundation, PO Box 934, Fayetteville, TN 37334.
