Funeral services for Mrs. Opal Lee Polly Parks, age 88, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 1 PM Thursday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Hamilton and Bro. Don Stevens. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens beside her husband J.W. Parks. Mrs. Parks passed away Saturday morning, November 1, 2008 at her daughter Sammie Kay Pigg’s residence.

A daughter of the late Sam and Bessie Adams Polly, she was a native of Nacado Cias, TX, formerly employed with Serbin, and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons Harrel Parks of Hattiesburg, MS, Larry Dennis Parks of Atlanta, GA, Donnie Parks of Fayetteville

and Gary Parks of Flintville, and daughters Peggy Chick  Schrimcher of Fayetteville, Yvonne Shelton of Douglasville, GA, Rachel Taylor of Fayetteville, Janice Cothren of Holly Pond, AL, and Sammie Kay Pigg of Fayetteville, a granddaughter Tanya Lee Pigg who helped take care of her Nannie and 16 Grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons Tony and Randall Parks.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.
