Funeral service for Mrs. Nova Joyce Moorehead Smith, age 86, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 1PM on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 11AM until the time of service at Higgins Funeral Home.
Joyce was born on November 9, 1933, to the late Willard E. and Mattie Tripp Moorehead in Lincoln County, TN. She passed away on June 23, 2020 at Lincoln Medical Center. Joyce was a retired bank teller from First Federal Bank. She enjoyed word search puzzles.
Joyce is survived by her son, Zane Smith of Huntsville, AL; grandson, Clayton Smith of Athens, AL; sister, Faye (Lt. Col. George) Massey of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Doris Moorehead; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. “Billy” Smith and her brother, Hilton Moorehead.

Zane I just found out about your Mother, I am so sorry my prayers are with you. I grew u with ur whole family. We was neighbors and loved all of them. I was Peggy Thornton I remember when u was born, Joyce was a wonderful person and Mother I am proud to say I knew her.
