Funeral services for Mr. Newman McCown, age 70, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Richard McWilliams    officiating.  Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery.  Mr. McCown passed away Saturday evening at Donalson Care Center.

A son of the late Otis N. and Linnie McAlister McCown, he was a native of Lincoln County, retired from GE Aero Space Division in Huntsville, and a member of Wells Hill Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife Ginger Hamlin McCown, daughter Jill McCown Fugate and husband Danny, son Scott McCown and wife Marion, grandchildren Brent Fugate and wife Ashlee, Blake Fugate and wife Jessica, Brooke Fugate, Riley McCown and Tyler McCown, great-granddaughter Avery Cross, brother Phillip McCown all of Fayetteville, sister Carol Chandler of Huntsville, sister Barbara Spencer, sister Joyce Mahal, brother Joe McCown, sister Gail Cornelius, sister Judy McCown, all of Fayetteville, brother Danny McCown of Madison, AL, brother Larry McCown of Fayetteville, and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by half-sister Darrine Roper, half-brother Otis McCown, Jr, half sister Lucille Hildebrand, and half-brother Willard McCown.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Monday at Higgins Funeral Home
