Obituary

It is with regret that we announce the passing of MSG (Ret.) Earl Thomas Warmath, U.S. Army, age 87, of Fayetteville, TN. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Fayetteville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church with Rev. Phillip Bunch officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Warmath was born July 28, 1933 to the late Robert and Essie Warmath. He was married to his beloved wife, Billie I. Hodum, for almost 50 years prior to her passing. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 26 years. After retirement he worked as a Motor Vehicle Enforcement Officer for the State of Tennessee. He also previously served as a Petersburg Police Officer and a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy. Earl passed away on June 27, 2021.

Survivors include daughter; Linda (Ricky) Warmath Goodwin of Hazel Green, AL, son; David (Debbie) Warmath of Huntsville, AL; sister, Doris Manley of Moscow, Idaho; grandsons, Rob (Stacy) Jensen, Bryan (Jennifer) Warmath, Michael (Jessica) Goodwin, Jacob Warmath, Hunter (Courtney) Goodwin; great-grandchildren, Tyler Jensen, Andrea Warmath, Kylie Warmath, Parker Goodwin, Braesyn Goodwin, Loralei Goodwin, Blaine Warmath, Davian Warmath, Deanna Smelley, and Cole Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Billie, and several brothers and sisters.

Visitation with the family and friends will be held from 10 AM – 11 AM on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Fayetteville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children’s Research.

    My husband, the late Jim Kidd, and I have known Mr. Warmath for many years and found him to be a fine Christian and dedicated Patriot of the USA. He and Jim would share military experiences. He was a true friend and his passing is is a loss for his fellowman. Sympathy to his family.
