Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Evins Russell, age 99, of Fayetteville formerly of Petersburg will be conducted at 1:00PM Friday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Don Hudson and Bro. Richard Waggoner officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Cemetery beside her husband George W. Russell who died in 1939. Mrs. Russell passed away Wednesday January 28th at Donalson Care Center.
She was born in Fosterville, TN. and was the daughter of the late Fred and Margaret “Maggie” Bingham Evins. Mrs. Russell was a bookkeeper for Butler Bros. Furniture in Lewisburg for 50 years, was a member of the Church of Christ and the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Russell was poet laureatte of Lincoln County.
Survivors include her daughter Fredna Ellis and husband Jimmy of Fayetteville,
four granddaughters, Wyanne King and husband Dwight of Fayetteville, Melodie Dye and husband Britt of Fayetteville, Jamie Cain and husband John of Fayetteville and Misty Russell Nelson of North Carolina, one grandson Charles Russell of Murfreesboro, eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son George E. Russell who died in 1994.
Visitation with the family will be Friday from 10am-1PM at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fayetteville Lincoln County Library.
