Funeral service for Mr. Michael Aden Brown, age 69, of Petersburg, TN, will be conducted at 11 AM on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Green officiating. Burial will be in the Center Point Cemetery.
Mike was born on May 30, 1951 in Memphis, TN to the late George Ameil, Sr. and Louise Ferrell Brown. He earned his bachelors degree in Agriculture Science from Middle Tennessee State University. Mr. Brown was a Live Production Manager for Tyson Foods for 28 years and owner of Cars Ink. Mike enjoyed farming, raising cattle, and growing chickens. He was the 2019 Herdsman of the Year with Tennessee Simmental Association. Mr. Brown served 12 years as a Lincoln County Commissioner. Mike was a founding father of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity at MTSU, and a member of the Petersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Brown passed away on September 6, 2020 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Dana McGee Brown; son, Ben (Shelby) Brown of Petersburg; daughter, Karen (Clay) Elmore of College Grove, TN; grandchildren, Aden, Avery, and Emmett Brown, and Emily Louise Elmore; sister, Connie Campbell of Buena Vista, VA; and a brother, Johnny Brown of Memphis, TN. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brothers, George A. Brown, Jr. and James Arthur Brown, and sister, Emily Satterfield.
Visitation with the family will be from 4 PM until 7 PM on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Higgins Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, Illinois 60611, in honor of Dr. Robert Miller, Pulmonologist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Dana & family, Mike was a friend to so many that thought so much of him. I worked many years at the fair grounds with him and he always had a smile on his face. May God provide comfort and peace during this sad time.
Mike was my very first boss and man was he a great one! His coaching and leadership have had a lifelong impact on me. He was always there for me when I needed him and he always had my back. So sorry to hear of Mike’s death. I enjoyed working with him as a County Commissioner for a number of years. He was always so polite and kind. May God give you comfort and peace during this difficult time.
