Graveside service for Mrs. Mary Gilliam Gatlin, age 94, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 2:30 PM on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Wright’s Cemetery with Bro. Colin Leighton officiating. Visitation with the family will be held at 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gatlin was born on May 27, 1923 in Lincoln County, TN to the late Jonas Wilson and Maudie Allen Bland Gilliam.
Survivors include her son, Harold (Ann) Gatlin of Fayetteville, TN; daughters, Faye Gatlin (Jesse) Blackburn of Harvest, AL and Denise Gatlin (Jay) Hall of Fayetteville, TN; grandchildren, Lisa (T.A.) Miller, Nita Gay Blackburn, Sharon (Barry) Beverly, Christopher (Anna) Hall, and Christina (Blake) Lawson; great-grandchildren, Bobby Beverly, Elizabeth (Matt) Billings, Tabatha Beverly (Levi) Thompson, Ashley (Dalton) Cook, and Heidi and Annabeth Lawson; and sister-in-law, Doris Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earlie Houston Gatlin, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tennessee Childrens Home at P.O. Box 10, Spring Hill, TN 37174 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at PO Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.

Sis Gatlin was a very special christian. In all the years I have known her everything about her life has been an inspiration to me. Her voice has had the kindest tone. I along with many others will miss this sweet child of God.

Ms Mary was an inspiration to so many. Her passing is mourned by many friends and family. She will be truly missed but will be basking in the glory of paradise with out Lord and Savior. Love you Ms Mary to the moon and back and the void you leave in my life is substantial. Rest in peace. I will never forget you. It was truly a pleasure to sit with you and visit with you.
