Funeral services for Martha Ruth Smith, age 90, of Fayetteville will be conducted

At 3:30pm Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Don Russell officiating.  Burial will follow in Wrights Cemetery beside her husband Everett Smith who died in 1971.  Mrs. Smith passed away Thursday afternoon in Lincoln Medical Center.

She was a native of Giles County and the daughter of the late Ollie and Katie Coggin Baker.  Mrs. Smith was a former employee of Serbin Fashions, a homemaker and a member of the Park City Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter Barbara Jean Pitts, daughter-in-law Fay Smith, grandsons Howard (Tracie) Pitts and Troy Joe Smith, granddaughter Tori (Chad) Tipps, Teresa Davis Smith, great grandson Logan Smith and Landen Smith, great granddaughters Heather Pitts, Halie Pitts and Grasen Tipps, loving friends Bill and Peggy Carter and many other family members and friends.  Pallbearers will be Hilton Johnson, Gary Smith, Chad Tipps, Jose’ Roman, Bill Carter, Coble Coggin, Honorary Pallbearers Landen and Logan Smith.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son Joe Maurice Smith who passed away in 2002.

Visitation with the family will be Friday evening 4-7PM at Higgins Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Joe Maurice Smith Scholarship Fund for the Lincoln County Lady Softball Team.
