Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Maybelle Reese Harry, age 85, of Fayetteville, will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Will Wells and Rev. Ann Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens beside her husband, Jerry Albert Harry, who passed away in 2009. Mrs. Harry was a native of Evansville, IN and daughter of the late William “Bud” and Waneta Ellis Reese. She was a member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, was an assistant horse trainer, and worked twenty plus years at Walmart of Fayetteville. Mrs. Harry loved her family, church family, volunteering at the church with the Notables, crossword puzzles, exercise class, visits from her friends and family, and was an avid reader.
Survivors include her children Dr. Mike (Violet) Harry, Dan (Jackie) Harry, Jerrie Lynn Harry (Steve) Gladish all of Fayetteville, Susan Harry (Michael) Laposata of Galveston, and Chris (Maria) Harry of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren Patrick Harry, Emily Wiggs, Heath Mann, Daniel Harry, Reese Harry, Tarek Harry, Sarah Merritt, Abby Merritt, Joshua Harry, and Cristina Harry; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister Carole Reese Rogers. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Harry was preceded in death by a granddaughter Martha Morgan Russell.
Visitation with the family will be 12 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, 200 N. Elk Ave., Fayetteville, TN 37334. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Martha Maybelle Reese Harry.
I always loved seeing her smiling face at Wal-mart. Your mother was such a sweet lady. God’s peace to all of your family.

Maybelline was one of the most beautiful people I have ever known. My heart is heavy for all who love this precious lady. I think of her every time I think of what grace means. She taught me so much. May God bless you, now and in the months ahead.
