Obituary

Funeral service for Mrs. Marjorie Logan Shelton, age 94, of Huntsville, AL, originally of Lincoln County, TN will be held at 12 pm on Friday, July 29, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. James Strope officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 10 am to 12 pm on Friday at Higgins.

Marjorie was born on April 8, 1928, in Lincoln County to the late Bill Dixon and Mary Crockett Logan. She was a member of the Church of Christ most recently at Mayfair, however due to her health she was not able to attend services for many years. Marjorie was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family. She passed away July 26, 2022, at Huntsville Hospital.

Survivors include her children, Diane Zamzow of Mobile, AL, Debbie Hood of Double Springs, AL, Becke Greene of Winston-Salem, NC, and Tim Shelton of Madison, AL; sisters, Dot Sanders of Nashville, TN, Betty Throneberry of Panama City, FL, and Nancy Holman of Sun City, FL; four grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Shelton; sister, Virginia McClellon; and brothers, Fred, Waylon, Joe, James, and Rutledge Logan.

Memorial Donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

    Mrs. Shelton was a true Southern Lady. She had grace with a loving heart and a kind soul. I was truly blessed to become her granddaughter-in-law. Mrs. Shelton will be missed but forever in my heart.
