The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home. Private interment will take place at Kelso Cemetery.
Margaret Ann Morgan, affectionately known as Ann, was born on February 2, 1945, to the late Howard Lee and Margaret Douglas Lee. Ann was a 1962 graduate of Central High School, attended Peabody College (now Vanderbilt University), and earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Tennessee State University. She dedicated her life to education, teaching Social Studies at the elementary level in Texas, Michigan, Missouri, Tennessee, and eventually in Madison County, Alabama, where she retired. Ann also served on the Lincoln County Adult Education Board, reflecting her dedication to giving back to the education community.
Beyond her career, Ann’s passions included a deep love for horses and a devotion to fostering animals. She cherished childhood memories of trail riding on her grandfather’s Fayetteville farm, now recognized as the Cedar Bluff Douglas Century Farm. Throughout her life, Ann continued to ride horses and found fulfillment in caring for numerous foster cats, dogs, and other animals in need.
Ann is survived by her husband, Tim Morgan; her son, Lee (Elizabeth) Morris; her beloved granddaughter, Margaret Morris; and her bonus children, Kristi (David) Fuller and Tim (Kat) Morgan, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to your local humane society or animal shelter, reflecting Ann’s lifelong love for animals and dedication to their care.
Higgins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Margaret Ann Morgan.
