Obituary

Funeral services for Maj. Larry Steven Taylor, retired army, age 59, of Fayetteville, will be conducted at 2 PM Monday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Smith and Rev. Kirk Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Campbell Cemetery.  Mr. Taylor passed away Friday evening at his residence.

A son of the late James Edward Taylor and Willodean Simms Taylor who survives, he was a native of Lincoln County, formerly employed as an engineer with Huntsville Madison County Airport Authority, a retired major of the Army with 26 years service, a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans, Sons of American Revolution, Military Order of Stars and Bars, and American Legion Post 2000, and a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, are his daughters Jennifer Taylor, Amy Hall (Joe, Jr.) all of Fayetteville, and Jamie Speck (Adam) of Flintville, son William Taylor of Fayetteville, their mother Debbie Taylor, grandchildren Nathan and Thomas Speck, Emma Hall, and Hollie Schmidt, and special friend Stephany Wingard.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Sunday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lincoln County Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
