Carla, I was so sad to hear about Aunt Mailene, and sorry that I couldn’t attend the funeral. She was such a sweet lady, and such a good friend to Mother. (In fact, it was Aunt Mailene that introduced Mother to First Baptist Church.) I know you miss her.

I loved this woman. She has been a part of The Hair Co family for as long as I can remember. Denise did her hair probably longer than I know. I also had the honor of having her in my faith family. Prayers go out to the family and friends that knew and loved her as I have.

    Carla and family…

I am sorry to hear of Mailene. I thought so much of her as did Mother over the years when they both attended and worked at the American Legion for all the veterans.

She was a delight to be around and Mother treasured her friendship while she herself was living.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers and to Stephen. Whereever your life leads you as an adult you can always remember how proud your Mother was of you as her grandson; for I remember the joy she had the day you were born.

May you all have solace in knowing that she loved you and that now she has gone to her final resting place and will be blessed. Another angel has joined the heavenly choir.

When I saw the name Mailene Smith, I knew it sounded very familiar. Then when I saw that Mrs. Smith had work at Jonathan Logan, I knew why it sounded familiar. My mother (Avis Kidd) also worked at Jonathan Logan for many years. Mother died in 1988, and I still miss her so much. Praying for your family that God will surround you with comfort and peace during this difficult time.
